Government to Introduce SOP for Safety of Census Workers Amid Rising Field Risks and Operational Challenges

Bhubaneswar, April. 25: A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be introduced to ensure the safety of government employees engaged in the census.
The Revenue Minister, Suresh Pujari, has called a meeting with revenue and census officials regarding this issue.
“Conducting door-to-door census is a challenge,” said the minister.
“Heatwave is a major problem, and there are reports of workers falling ill.”
“There have also been reports of attacks on some officials during the census.”
“Ensuring the safety of government employees and the public is a major responsibility,” the minister stated.
Discussions have been held with the Home Secretary and the Director General of Police regarding incidents of attacks.
“Even if the attackers hide anywhere, they will be tracked down and brought to justice,” the minister added.
