Nabarangpur, May 06: A grand district-level Sankirtan and folk art mega gathering was organized at the PM SHRI Raja Chaitanya Dev School ground under the joint aegis of the Shree Shree Jagannath Naam Sankirtan Lokakala Parishad, Odisha, and the Nabarangpur District Sankirtan Mandali Federation.
On this occasion, as many as 328 Naam Sankirtan groups from 10 blocks of the district participated. They took out a massive procession with traditional musical instruments and conch blowing from the Chamuriaguda Bhairab Temple परिसर to the school ground.
Attending as the chief guest, District Planning Board Chairman and Nabarangpur MLA Gaurishankar Majhi stated that Sankirtan groups are carriers of spiritual consciousness. He also promised the establishment of a conference hall for Sankirtan groups at the district headquarters.
Among others present were Dabugaon MLA Manohar Randhari, Rajpurohit Narasingha Tripathy, Mahant Dibyananda Das from Puri, Acharya Abhishek Pathak from Vrindavan, State President Siddhartha Shankar Swain, State Vice-President Krushnachandra Pal, State Secretary Dushmanta Purohit, district advisors Manas Ranjan Das and Manoj Kumar Patnaik, District Kinnar Association Secretary Chumuki Kinnar, District Secretary Arjun Bhatra, Vice-President Bhishma Shabar, Joint Secretaries Gangadhar Mali and Bhawani Bisoyi, Treasurer Ram Mohan Choudhury, along with presidents and secretaries from the undivided Koraput district.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by district advisor and social worker Sarbeswar Patra, while Ashok Patra conducted the proceedings.
It was also decided that the organization will conduct voluntary blood donation camps and organize Bhagavata recitation and yajna for world peace in the coming days.
