Bhubaneswar, April 30 While the online transfer process for primary school teachers has already begun this year, no notification has yet been issued for the transfer of secondary school teachers. As per norms, the online transfer portal is usually opened in February and the process is expected to be completed by the end of June. However, the School and Mass Education Department Odisha has not been following this schedule, affecting the teaching system and creating dissatisfaction among teachers.
President of the Secondary NPS Teachers’ Association, Pradipta Kumar Pradhan, stated that teachers have been waiting for transfers for a long time. The delay in starting and completing the transfer process is causing frustration among teachers.
He further pointed out that such delays are also impacting teaching activities. If the process starts in February and ends by June, teachers can begin teaching in their new schools from the start of the academic session. However, due to deviations, the process often gets completed as late as November, creating difficulties for both teachers and students.
Therefore, he has demanded that the transfer process for secondary school teachers be initiated immediately and completed within the stipulated timeframe. He also warned that if their demands are not met, teachers may resort to agitation.
