Akshaya Tritiya on April 20 to Mark Grand Beginning of Rath Construction in Puri

Bhubaneswar, April 24:  On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, the construction of chariots for the world-famous Rath Yatra will commence.
The Rathakhala (chariot construction yard) is being prepared by the Bhoi servitors. This year, the entire Rathakhala will be under CCTV surveillance to ensure smooth and timely completion of the work.
Puri District Collector Dibyajyoti Parida stated that the goal is to complete the chariot construction efficiently and ahead of schedule.
He also informed that the sacred Chandan Yatra of Lord Jagannath will begin from Akshaya Tritiya.
To enhance security, 12 CCTV cameras—including PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) cameras—will be installed to monitor activities at the Rathakhala.
