Kotpad, Sept 28 [UDN}: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited the flood-affected areas of Kotpad to take stock of the situation on the ground and assess the impact of the recent heavy rainfall and flooding in the region.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected the affected areas and interacted with local residents to understand the difficulties being faced by people due to the flood situation. He reviewed the extent of damage caused by the overflowing water and took information from officials regarding rescue, relief and restoration measures being undertaken in the affected areas.
The Chief Minister also directed the concerned authorities to ensure that immediate assistance reaches all affected families and that essential services are restored at the earliest. He emphasised the need for coordinated efforts by the district administration and various government departments to deal with the situation effectively.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister about the prevailing flood situation, evacuation and relief arrangements, road connectivity, damage to infrastructure and other issues arising from the heavy rainfall. The administration has been instructed to remain alert and provide necessary support to people living in vulnerable and low-lying areas.
The Chief Minister’s visit to the flood-hit areas comes amid continued concerns over the impact of heavy rains in parts of southern Odisha, including Kotpad and surrounding areas. The ground-level assessment is expected to help the government and district administration strengthen relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected population.
