Jeypore: Free football training will be provided to players from the district, thanks to the initiative of Zinc Football Academy from Udaipur, Rajasthan. Today, player selection was conducted at the local Dussehra Ground.
Around 30 young women and 70 young men from the district participated in the selection. They underwent physical assessments and participated in football matches. The selected players will be informed in the upcoming year and will be invited to Udaipur.
The academy has stated that all expenses, including travel, accommodation, and food for the selected players, will be provided free of cost.
Present during today’s selection process were Tarun Ray, Technical Director of Zinc Academy; Manager K. Kam Subramanyam; Coach Hemant Yadav; and Odisha Football Coach P. Karshik.
The event was organized by the Sub-divisional Sports Parliament.
It was coordinated by Secretary Ravi Nayak, former footballers Sanjay Kumar Jena, Bhawani Panda, and Umesh Anka. Refereeing duties were carried out by Shantanu Behera.
