Nandahandi, Dec, 03:  Wild animals generally remain in forests, and even arrangements for drinking water are provided by the Forest Department. However, due to extensive maize and sugarcane cultivation in the region, many areas have increasingly become forest-like, creating a favorable environment for bears to roam. As a result, sightings of bears wandering into villages have become more frequent.

In B. Maliguda Panchayat under Nandahandi Block, a youth was suddenly attacked by a bear on the middle of the road near Ekamba. The injured youth has been identified as Shagun Kumar (28).

It is noteworthy that the OCC Company is currently constructing a minor irrigation dam (adi-bandha) near Garaduguda on the Indravati River.
