Youth Killed, Another Seriously Injured in Papadahandi Bike-Truck Collision

Papadahandi : One person died and another was seriously injured in a bike accident, according to reports. As per the available information, two residents of Jatabal village in Papadahandi block of Nabarangpur district — Iyar Khan (55) and Mangaru Harijan (42) — were traveling on a TVS XL (registration number OD 24 A 3482) to the nearby village of Kenduguda around 8 PM on 08/06/25.

While passing near the M.E. School (Water Tank Square) in Jatabal, a speeding bike (registration number OD 24 H 5618) hit their vehicle from behind. As a result, Mangaru Harijan, who was sitting on the back, was thrown off the bike and fell on the roadside in a severely bleeding condition.

Local people immediately called the 108 ambulance service and admitted both to the Papadahandi Group Health Centre. After primary treatment, doctors referred them to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital. Due to the critical condition of Mangaru, he was further referred to Koraput Medical College and from there to Visakhapatnam for advanced treatment.

Unfortunately, Mangaru succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Visakhapatnam Medical Hospital.

Following this, Mangaru’s sister’s husband, Bishwanath Cheti, filed a written complaint at Dabugaon Police Station. Based on the complaint, Dabugaon Police seized the body, conducted a postmortem, and later handed it over to the family.
