Koshagumuda: A tragic road accident occurred near Koshagumuda Adarsha Vidyalaya around 7 PM on Friday evening, resulting in the death of a young woman. The deceased, identified as Jadu Bhatra (20), had been critically injured and was initially taken to Koshagumuda Medical but was later referred to Nabarangpur District Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Two others were also injured in the incident — Kaushalya Bhatra (18) from Kandapuri and Dhalamani Bhatra (19) from Dashapuria Guda. On the evening of the incident, the three were returning from Koshagumuda after buying gifts. Jadu was riding a bike with the two girls as pillion passengers, heading back to his village Kandapuri, when they were involved in a head-on collision with an Omni van coming from the Kodinga side, near the Adarsha Vidyalaya.
Kaushalya Bhatra (18), who was critically injured, was being shifted to Brahmapur when she passed away during transit.
Upon receiving information, Koshagumuda police arrived at the scene, seized the bike and the Omni van, and have launched an investigation. Inspector-in-Charge Umesh Chandra Nayak confirmed the developments.
