Kotpad:8th Oct 2025:  In a proud moment for India, a young scientist from Kotpad has received an invitation from the World Space Week Association (WSWA), based in Houston, Texas, USA, to participate in their 2025 event. As part of the globally organized World Space Week 2025, with the theme “Living in Space”, Amjura Bishwanath from the Kotpad region has been invited to contribute to outreach activities focused on making space science knowledge more accessible to the public.

Amjura Bishwanath, who is the Chairperson of the Universal Science, Technology, and Innovation Council (USTIC) – India, has been officially selected to organize both online and offline programs across India for World Space Week 2025. Kotpad in Odisha and Dantewada in Chhattisgarh are the only two centers in India where these official programs will be hosted under his coordination.

The official invitation and confirmation have come from the World Space Week Association, headquartered in the United States. The association has entrusted Amjura Bishwanath, a youth scientist and educator from Kotpad, to lead awareness campaigns related to space science, especially among students and communities.

According to him, the program is supported by major space and research organizations such as:

  • NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), USA
  • ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation)
  • Colorado Space Foundation, USA
  • International Ionospheric Union
  • International Telecommunication Union
  • Space Education and Development Organization
  • Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation
  • KGI Society India, among others.

More than 100 countries will participate in this global initiative, and for 2025, the theme “Living in Space” will be explored through scientific discussions, competitions, and awareness drives. The event is being supported by prominent organizations like:

GAIA

And many other global aerospace giants.

Speaking during the poster release, Amjura Bishwanath stated that from October 4 to 10, a week-long series of events including webinars, conferences, competitions, and award ceremonies will be conducted. These are open to students, teachers, scientists, space enthusiasts, journalists, entrepreneurs, general public, and community organizations.

The last date for competition and project entries is October 18, 2025.

The main goal of this initiative is to provide free training, information, and opportunities to the public, raising awareness and interest in topics such as space science, space missions, near-Earth objects, satellites, rockets, environment, and more.
