Cuttack, A young man, Rabindra Patra (99) from Nimapur under Jagatpur police limits, died due to electrocution on Tuesday while working at a momo stall in Chhaktara.

According to police sources, a person had set up a momo stall near the SBI Bank at College Chhak, where Rabindra was working. On Tuesday evening, after opening the stall, he was trying to hook something onto an electric pole when he suddenly got electrocuted for unknown reasons.

Local shopkeepers immediately rescued him and rushed him to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Upon hearing the news, Rabindra’s family members from Nimapur slum rushed to Malgodown police station, demanding strict action against the stall owner and compensation. Based on their complaint, police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, the police have sent the body for post-mortem, and it will be handed over to the family tomorrow after the examination.
