Jeypore: Efforts are underway to make the local Yellow Bridge area more attractive. The park construction near Sukhia Guda, close to Sati Guda Dam, has resumed. Previously, pathways, an open gym, and play equipment for children were installed. Now, ornamental trees are being planted for beautification, and a drainage system is being developed. The Irrigation Department has allocated Rs6.90 lakh for this purpose. The amount is being spent through tenders under the Dam Development Grant.
A tender was issued for the development of the park on the northern side of Sati Guda Dam. Ornamental trees have been planted along both sides of the pathways. According to the department, this area was previously covered with thick vegetation, and a plan was made to develop a park here.
The construction work initially began 10 years ago. At that time, funds were used to install solar lights, a water tank, and a drainage system for water disposal. A road was also built for entry and exit into the park. In the second phase, various play equipment was installed for children’s recreation.
As many people visit the area in the morning and evening, an open gym facility was also set up. Cement benches and lighting arrangements were made, along with a piped water supply and standposts in some locations. Now, with new grants received, the remaining unfinished work has resumed.
