Bhadrak, 1st Nov 2025: World Savings Day 2025 was celebrated at the District Goodwill Center, Bhadrak, organized by the District Economic Services and Savings Department, Bhadrak, under the chairmanship of Additional District Collector, Bhadrak.
The chief guest, Additional District Collector Rabi Narayan Sahu, addressed the gathering and spoke on topics including savings, financial literacy programs, opening Sukanya Samriddhi accounts, and how officials and employees of all district offices can protect themselves from online frauds.
At the event, Bhadrak Postal Department officer Vijay Kumar Mahanti and India Post Payment Bank officers highlighted that the postal department is not only a medium for sending letters but also an excellent channel for financial savings. They noted that in areas where banks are not available, the postal department provides a new avenue for savings. Even with just 100 INR, one can open an account with the postal department.
Cyber Cell officer Bandana Devi spoke about various issues related to cybercrime and ways to stay protected.
