Nabarangpur –15th Oct 2025: On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, a seminar and legal awareness camp was organized at the conference hall of the District Headquarters Hospital, Nabarangpur, under the joint initiative of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Nabarangpur, and the District Health Society.
The program was conducted as per the direction of Mr. Subrata Mahanta, Chairman of DLSA and District Judge, Nabarangpur. Mrs. Shashwati Mishra, Secretary of DLSA, attended as the chief guest.
Among the attendees were:

At the beginning, Dr. Santosh Kumar Panda explained the causes, prevention, and treatment of mental illnesses, including distribution of free medicines and support for people with intellectual disabilities.
A presentation (PPT) by the Health Department’s psychologist demonstrated:
Symptoms of mental illnesses at home
Available treatment services
Preventive measures offered by the health department.
The chief guest and other speakers raised awareness on mental health conditions and related legal issues. Emphasis was placed on:
Regular yoga,
Physical exercise,
Spiritual well-being,
Adequate sleep,
Support from family and community,
and efforts to overcome depression and helplessness to maintain good mental health in today’s challenging times.
Finally, Shankar Acharya, Executive Officer of the District Headquarters Hospital, offered the vote of thanks.
The program was jointly organized and coordinated by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Nabarangpur, and the District Headquarters Hospital.
