Baipariguda,22nd Aug 2025: A workshop on constitutional rights education was organized for matrons overseeing students in residential schools run by the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Department. The program was conducted by the Institute of Human Rights Education (IHRE) under the guidance and advice of the District Administration, at the local Town Hall.
Pradeep Nayak, the chief trainer, provided training to 60 matrons from 60 residential schools in Koraput district. The workshop covered topics such as constitutional rights, child rights, child protection, prevention of female foeticide, prevention of child sexual exploitation, and human rights.
Participants were also provided with textbooks and posters based on the rights enshrined in the Indian Constitution. They will subsequently discuss these topics with school principals and deliver educational sessions to students in their respective residential schools, helping children understand their rights and duties.
The initiative aims to prevent child exploitation at the school level. Other trainers, including Rabi Sup Narayan Panda and Gayatri Mishra, also contributed to the training. Pradeep Khosla assisted in organizing and managing the workshop.
