Women’s Safety Workshop Conducted at Nabarangpur College

Nabarangpur:25th July 2025: In accordance with the directives of the State Government’s Higher Education and School & Mass Education Departments, a workshop on women’s safety, gender-based violence, and sexual harassment awareness was held today at Nabarangpur College.

Renowned social worker and ICC committee member Smt. Manorama Majhi attended the event as the chief guest. College Principal Sri D. Govinda Rao, ICC Chairperson Smt. Sangeeta Tripathy, and members Smt. Pranati Majhi, Smt. Tulasa Bhatara, and Smt. Nirmala Hikaka were also present at the program.

The event focused on how to create a safe and conducive learning environment within educational institutions. Chief Guest Smt. Majhi provided practical examples and advice on how students, especially girls, can protect themselves from sexual harassment and stay vigilant.

Smt. Sangeeta Tripathy, ICC Chairperson, explained the functioning and usefulness of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and how students and staff can seek redressal through it.

A video presentation was also shown as part of the awareness drive. The workshop witnessed active participation from students and all staff members, contributing to a meaningful dialogue on women’s safety and institutional accountability.
