Kotpad: In Kotpad, Koraput district, the Kalash Yatra was conducted on Thursday in Kenduguda to mark the establishment of the Radha Shyam temple. Hundreds of ISKCON devotees, both men and women from Kotpad and nearby villages, participated in the event.
The women started from the new temple and reached Damayanti Sagar Champa Rani Ghat near Baharagada Sahi, where they collected water from the Sagar (lake) while singing bhajans and kirtans in devotion to Radha-Krishna. After parading through the town, they returned to the temple, where priests performed rituals and worship.
The celebrations will last for five days. Several ISKCON leaders and spiritual mentors from across the district and state gathered to extend their support.
