Bhubaneswa: A bull attacked and killed a woman and injured several others. Initially, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) ignored public complaints but eventually took action after the situation escalated. A special team from BMC was deployed to capture the aggressive bull.
The bull’s rampage in the outskirts of Bhubaneswar caused panic among locals, leading them to block roads in protest, which finally compelled BMC to respond. The bull was eventually captured using ropes by cow caretakers.
According to reports, locals blocked the road connecting Engine Road to Mancheswar on Monday after the bull fatally attacked a woman and injured more than five people. Villagers issued an ultimatum to BMC to capture the bull immediately. Residents had previously filed multiple complaints about the aggressive bull, but BMC remained indifferent, increasing public frustration.
Due to fear of the bull, people were afraid to leave their homes, and concerns about the safety of other cattle also grew. Despite repeated appeals to the authorities, no prompt action was taken.
After the bull turned deadly, public outrage reached its peak. Protesters blocked the road, warning BMC they wouldn’t withdraw until the bull was captured. Police arrived at the scene to calm the situation, and BMC assured that the bull would be tranquilized soon, easing tensions.
Finally, the aggressive bull was captured by cow caretakers using ropes. However, after being caught, the bull reportedly died. The local villagers will conduct the final rites for the deceased bull.
