Bhubaneswar, 11th Sept 2025: Monsoon rains continue across the state. Along with this, a cyclonic circulation has formed in the upper atmosphere. While the mornings remain sunny, the afternoons turn cloudy, bringing rain showers.
A monsoon-induced low-pressure trough is extending from Jodhpur through Deomali and stretches up to the northeast Bay of Bengal. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation persists over southern Odisha and the northern coastal region of Andhra Pradesh.
Weather Forecast Until 13th September:
Due to these conditions, thunderstorms with lightning and rainfall are expected across several parts of the state till 13th September.
Likely Heavy Rainfall Tomorrow (10th Sept):
Districts that may experience intense rain with lightning and thunder include:
Koraput
Malkangiri
Nabarangpur
Rayagada
Gajapati
Mayurbhanj
Keonjhar
Sundargarh
Additionally, areas from the coastal belt to western Odisha may also witness thunderstorms and rain.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a Yellow Warning for these conditions.
Orange Warning for Malkangiri & Koraput:
On 11th September, the intensity of rainfall is expected to increase. Particularly, very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is forecasted in Malkangiri and Koraput, prompting the issuance of an Orange Warning for these districts.
Besides this, various parts of southern Odisha are also expected to receive heavy rainfall.
The coastal and western regions of Odisha may also see rain accompanied by thunder and lightning during this period.
