Papdahandi: Farmers are worried due to the lack of water for maize cultivation as river water has dried up. Even after paying for borewells for years, they have not been installed. With the ongoing summer season, the riverbeds have dried up, leaving farmers struggling with irrigation issues. As a result, maize crops are at risk of damage, causing great concern among the farmers.
Farmers from Panditguda village, Nuakot Panchayat, Papdahandi Block, Nabarangpur District have raised these concerns. A river flows through the village, and many farmers on both sides cultivate maize. However, as the crops reach mid-growth, water scarcity threatens their yield.
Several farmers had deposited money years ago for borewell installations, but they have yet to receive them. With their crops at risk and debts piling up, farmers are deeply worried about their financial situation. They have urged the administration to intervene, resolve their water crisis, and ensure the installation of borewells to support their agriculture.
