Nabarangpur, 8th Nov 2025: The 114th birth anniversary of Santh Shri Durgacharan, a disciple of Swami Nigamananda Saraswati and the permanent director of Neelachal Saraswat Sangha, was celebrated at the Nigamananda Ashram in Gandhinagar. From dawn to dusk, the celebrations included a morning wake-up, vigil, morning Aarti, Guru Pranam, recitation of Shanti Path, and Vedic prayers.
The Ashram’s president, Narayan Panda, recited passages from the Nigam Granth. Among the attendees were senior devotee Prakash Chandra Mishra from Bhawanipatna, music servant of the Ashram Prafulla Chandra Panda, Thakur’s deity decoration servant Devadatta Samantaray, director’s assistant Ajay Kumar Dash, cooking servants Damodar Behera and Niranjan Dash, who all contributed actively.
During the second session, the chief guests included social worker Jagannath Mahapatra, young activist Taruni Majhi, writer Vijay Choudhury, retired professor and researcher Dr. Vijay Kumar Mishra, councilor Sharmistha Deo, Mamata Maharana, Rekha Bhauṇī of Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, Girija Shankar’s husband from Damanjodi, and Vijaya Amritamayee, who all participated in the program.
The Ashram editor, Narendra Kumar Pal, presented the annual report at this occasion. On this day, 41 poor people were provided with warm clothes. Among others, the event was attended by municipal chairman Kunu Nayak, Satyabadi Shadangi, Sarbeshwar Patra, Hrushikesh Dash, Harihar Dash, Gopabandhu Bishoyi, Banku Bihari Bishoyi, and other prominent intellectuals and dignitaries of the town.
All the Ashram’s disciples, including Pramod Kumar Sethi, Sudhir Dal, Phool Chand Bhattara, Bikram Dash, Falghuni Patra, and Saurabh Dash, helped in organizing the program.
