Jayapatna, Feb, 18:The ward-wise division and seat reservation for the Jayapatna NAC (Notified Area Council) elections have been announced. There is a 10-day window for filing objections. A total of 15 wards have been constituted.
Of these:
Seats for councilors are reserved as follows:
Ward Nos. 11 and 15: Reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) women – 2 seats
Ward No. 4: Reserved for ST – 1 seat
Ward No. 2: Reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) women – 1 seat
Ward No. 5: Reserved for ST – 1 seat
Ward Nos. 1, 6, 7, 12, and 13: Reserved for women – 5 seats
The remaining wards – 3, 8, 9, 10, and 14 – have unreserved seats, totaling 5.
With the announcement, political activity has begun in full swing. All eyes are on which parties – BJD, BJP, and Congress – will allocate their tickets to which candidates. Discussions suggest that political maneuvering may now start from the state capital.
Although Jayapatna is a block headquarters, it has been many years since a councilor was elected. Who will win the people’s support and occupy the NAC chair in the coming days remains to be seen.
