A 24-year-old youth named Anil Behera, who had been suffering from pleural decortication disease for a long time, underwent this complex surgery. The condition had severely restricted lung expansion, which was in turn affecting his breathing capacity.

The surgery was carried out successfully under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Malaykrishna Nayak, Head of the Department, along with Associate Professor Dr. Rohit Gohil.

The surgical team also included:

  • Dr. Kisan Bhoi
  • Dr. Chinmaya Kar
