Malkangiri,7th Oct 2025:  On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, a special Gram Sabha was organized at the Sindhimala Gram Panchayat office meeting hall in Malkangiri district’s Sadar Block, as part of the Adi Karma Yogi Abhiyan. The meeting was chaired by Sindhimala Sarpanch Ghasi Nayak.

Key guests included Malkangiri Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Project Administrator Haldhar Sabar, Naib Sarpanch Sumit Kabasi, Piramal Foundation Program Manager Rajaram Mallik, Panchayat Executive Officer Ashok Kumar Mahanti, committee member Suji Kurami, ward members from 10 wards, village heads, self-help group members, and employees from various departments.

The aim of the Adi Karma Yogi Abhiyan is to prepare and approve five-year development plans for 425 tribal-dominated villages through coordinated efforts of different departments and community approval via Gram Sabhas. The final draft of these plans will be presented and approved at the district level on Janjati Gaurav Diwas (November 15). The program will run from 2024-25 to 2028-29 in full implementation mode.

The initiative aligns with the Developed Odisha 2036 vision of the Odisha Government and the Developed India 2047 goal of the Government of India. All government employees, volunteers, youth groups, and self-help groups present participated in the village-level planning.

On this occasion, villagers from the 10 participating villages expressed their commitment to transforming their villages into clean and green model villages. They pledged to improve their infrastructure, including concrete roads, schools, ponds, Anganwadi centers, playgrounds, bathing areas, toilets, and tree plantations to beautify and green their surroundings.

Notably, Daniguda village was identified as a model village in Sindhimala Panchayat, and other villages promised to emulate its development and aesthetic. The event was facilitated by the Sindhimala Panchayat Executive Officer and Mr. Mahanti.
