Beheda,: The Vaishakhi Yatra of Maa Pendrani was celebrated for two days at the headquarters of Beheda Gram Panchayat in Umerkote Block, Nabarangpur district.
On the first Monday, worship and rituals of Maa Pendrani were conducted deep in the Gadikataganj jungle. Following that, a grand procession was held in which symbolic representations of various deities—such as traditional “lathi palinki” (decorated palanquins) and idols—participated from nearby regions surrounding Beheda.
Later, Maa Pendrani was taken into the temple. On Tuesday, temple priest Lachha performed rituals according to traditional customs. After the rituals, the divine power of the goddess was demonstrated.
A large number of devotees from distant places gathered to catch a glimpse of the goddess and took part in the temple’s circumambulation and worship. The Yatra Committee had also organized several public events for the devotees.
On the final day, after the completion of prayers and offerings, devotees carried the decorated palanquins and idols of deities back to their respective places from house to house.
