Umarkot, Nov 22 : On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man, a unity march was organized on Wednesday in Umarkot with the support of the Nabarangpur district administration.
The march started from the Shaheed Stambh in Bada Bharandi and proceeded to Parade Padia near the Umarkot DNC. Participants included Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi, school and public education minister’s representative Ashok Padhi, MP representative Ram Nayak, Jharinga MLA Narsingh Bhatra, state BJP vice president Ramesh Sahu, Umarkot sub-collector Prakash Prakash Mishra, additional district magistrate Vishwajit Barman, PD Darwan, municipal chairperson Biranchi Narayan Dar, Umarkot block chairperson Sushila Majhi, Umarkot municipal executive officer Alok Kumar Anugulia, and Umarkot group development officer Manoj Meher, along with officials from various departments.
Flowers were offered at the portrait of Sardar Patel, and tributes were paid at the Shaheed Smarak. Students from various schools and colleges, along with members of the public, participated in the march. Carrying the national flag, participants marched a distance of 5 kilometers from Bada Bharandi to DNC.
