Kotpad , Jan, 05:  An attractive district-level football match was organized in Kotpad town. First, a beautiful procession was taken out from Kotpad Kusumi Chhak, passing through the Maa Sheetala Thakurani Temple, to welcome and escort the chief guests. With the accompaniment of bands, fireworks, Dhemsa dance, and the presence of respected citizens of Kotpad, the beauty and grandeur of the playground were enhanced.

Among those present were the Chief Guest, Municipal Chairperson M. Shankar Rao; Bar Association President Mani Prasad Patnaik; MP’s representative Rameshwar Jena; Pani Panchayat President Biren Bisoi; senior Congress leaders Manohar Bisoi and Girish Pattnaik; social worker Nini Babu Mali; youth councillor Tiku Bisoi; Rehman Khan; former MP’s representative Prakash Chandra Mahanti; former Minister’s representative Pradeep Bakshi; Farmers’ Association President Seetanath Biswal; senior advocate Jitendra Nath Mahapatra; young advocates Ghana Bisoi and Ajit Patnaik; President Akshay Swain; Vice-President Santosh Jena; Secretary Shankar Panda; Joint Secretary Bishnu Bhatra; senior football player Dipu Mahanti; and those who extended full support to the tournament including Balya Nayak, advocate Venkat Rao, Kuna Sahu, Thabir Samarath, and commentator Prashant Panda, among others.

The winning team will receive a prize of Rs25,000 in the name of Bhavani Panda, to be presented by his advocate brother. The runner-up team will receive Rs20,000 from Rajendra Nayak in memory of his late father.

In today’s first match, the Borigumma Dubali team defeated Girlla Nuaguda in a penalty shootout by 5–4 and advanced to the second round.
