Unique Initiative: NAC Chairman Holds Grievance Hearings Ward by Ward

Redhakhol, 20th Aug 2025: A unique initiative has been undertaken by Redhakhol NAC Chairman Shibram Sahu of Sambalpur district to resolve common issues faced by the townspeople.

Every Monday, Chairman Sahu along with other NAC officials has started holding public grievance hearings by visiting each ward. On Monday, a grievance hearing was organized at Parichaya Gruha in Ward No. 3, Shibshankarpada.

During the hearing, various issues were raised, such as drainage problems, garbage dumping in lanes and near Shiva temple, demands for homestead land pattas, and housing scheme orders, among others.

Mr. Sahu stated that many problems can be resolved if officials go directly to the people and listen to their grievances at their doorstep. At the hearings, both individual and collective issues are taken up, and smaller matters are resolved on the spot.

So far, out of around 150 individual and collective complaints received, about 80 have already been solved immediately at the venue itself. These include issues like pension disbursement, ration cards, and birth certificates. Pending problems will also be addressed at the earliest, and the initiative will definitely succeed in benefiting the townspeople, Mr. Sahu said.

NAC Executive Officer Ranjan Kumar Martha, Vice-Chairperson Anushaya Pradhan, Councillor Kumud Nath, along with other officials, were present at the hearing.
