Bhubaneswar, Jan, 19:  From the upcoming academic year 2026–27, new textbooks will be introduced from Class I to Class VIII. These will be based on the Odisha State Curriculum Framework (OSCF). To ensure effective implementation of the new curriculum, 1.67 lakh teachers across the state will be trained.

Continuous professional development of teachers will be carried out using modern technology. Teaching in the mother tongue up to Class V will be further strengthened.
This will help build a strong foundation in children’s basic education. For students from Class VI to Class X, a 10-day “bag-free” learning system will be introduced. This will enable them to gain practical knowledge and develop critical thinking skills.
From birth to Class XII, special emphasis will be given to children’s nutrition and health.
