Nabarangpur: A coaching camp has started at the local stadium in Nabarangpur under the support of the Nabarangpur District Sports Association for the Chief Minister Trophy Football competition. The camp involves 40 selected players.
It is informed that the Chief Minister Cup Football League tournament was recently held in Umarkot during various events. From that tournament, 40 players were selected to attend this coaching camp.
The camp was formally inaugurated by Prahallad Tripathy, editor of the District Sports Association, who was the chief guest. Other notable guests present included M. Bala Krishna Rao, Vice President of the District Sports Association; editor Manoj Kumar Pattnayak; District Sports Officer Sameer Kumar Patra; Santosh Trophy player; and former football player Prashant Behera.
In this coaching camp, senior former football players Durjya Harijan, Firaj Hial, Lalu Harijan, and Raila Bhatara will provide training on various football skills. Considering the summer heat, the training sessions are conducted daily from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM.
It is informed that this training camp will continue for a week, after which a 22-member Nabarangpur district team will be announced. This team will play matches against the teams from Ganjam and Koraput districts at Brahmapur.
The camp is managed by Ashok Nayak, editor of the association’s cricket section, along with senior member Shashank Shekhar Behera.
