Narsinghpur, 21st Nov 2025:  Tribal Pride Day was celebrated at the Bhaliadih Sevashram in Narsinghpur block on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Birsamunda, along with a parents’ participation meeting. The event was chaired by Headmaster Dileep Das.

The chief guest at the program was Ekdal Sarpanch Kartik Chandra Dalai, and the main speaker was committee member Kamraj Dalai. Distinguished guests included Panchayat Executive Officer Santosh Swain, School Management Committee President Prashant Prashant Nayak, and CRCC chief Dileep Chand, among others. The celebration honored Birsamunda, who is considered a protector and deity of the tribal community.

Birsamunda is remembered for fighting against British oppression to protect the rights of the tribal people, even sacrificing his life. To commemorate his birth anniversary, the government observes this day annually and has taken several measures to promote it widely at the official level, as noted by the guests.

Educator Rashmita Manguwal coordinated the meeting, while teacher Adya Abhishek Sethi introduced the guests. Teachers Smaranika Mishra, Kumudini Behera, Pramedini Daluwa, Sumitra Bai Sahu, Niranjan Pradhan, Bhama Pradhan, and Sita Behera, along with all other teachers, assisted in organizing the event. Teacher Laxmi Narayan Sahu offered a vote of thanks.
