Dabugam, 2nd Sept 2025: A training program was conducted on Tuesday at the conference hall of Dabugam Block, focusing on the long-term vision of developing TB-free Gram Panchayats, as part of the localization of sustainable development goals.
The event was chaired by BDO Sarat Majhi. Other key participants included:
- Gagan Bag, Head of the TB Unit at Dabugam Group Health Centre
- Padmanabh Bhalla, Panchayat Development Officer
- Monal Parida, Aakanksha Block Associate
- Aditya Narayan Rath, Block Mangal Expansion Officer
- A.D. Prasad, Panchayat Executive Officer
- During the training, guidance was provided to:
- Female Health Workers
- Anganwadi Workers
- AWW Supervisors
- Gram Rojgar Sevaks
- ASHA Workers
- A total of 75 participants attended the program.
The primary objective of the initiative is to transform villages into TB-free Gram Panchayats by raising awareness about:
- Symptoms of TB
- Early detection
- Prevention and treatment
- The training included discussions on:
- Identifying TB patients
- Providing financial aid to diagnosed patients
- Incentives for ASHA workers who help identify cases
- Roles and responsibilities of elected representatives and government officials
- The program was coordinated by PESA facilitator Subhashree Mahankud.
