Malkangiri, 14th Nov 2025:  As part of the government’s initiative, a training and capacity-building program aimed at enhancing the own revenue generation of Gram Panchayats was organized for the Sarpanches, Panchayat Executive Officers (PEOs), Assistant Development Officers (ADOs), and GRSs from various Panchayats under the seven blocks of Malkangiri district — Kalimela, Padia, Korukonda, Chitrakonda, Khairput, Malkangiri, and Mathili.

The Malkangiri district administration conducted this eight-day training program in four batches, training a total of 216 participants. The camp, held under the supervision of the Zilla Parishad, took place at the District Panchayat Resource Centre and continued until the 12th of this month.

During the valedictory ceremony, Chief Guest Mr. Naresh Chandra Sabar, CDO-cum-EO, along with Guest of Honour Mr. Manas Mishra (Finance Officer) and Mr. Ashok Sahu (District Project Manager, RGSA), emphasized the importance of strengthening Panchayat-level leadership for sustainable revenue generation.

Program Manager Mr. Himansu Bhushan Maharana detailed the objectives and agenda of the training program to the participants. The training focused on developing effective leadership among elected representatives and officials to enable them to mobilize and increase their Panchayat’s internal revenue resources.

As trainers, Mr. Kosmas Tirkey, Mr. Binash Kumar Mishra, Mr. Jagannath Mandal, Mrs. Shubhalaxmi Swain, and Mrs. Sujata Biswas delivered motivational and data-driven sessions, providing valuable insights and practical guidance.

After completing the training, all the Sarpanches and officials committed to applying their acquired knowledge and skills in their respective areas — to raise public awareness and take responsibility for enhancing their Gram Panchayat’s own revenue.

The program was successfully and efficiently coordinated under the leadership of Mr. Binash Kumar Mishra, with active support from Mr. Bishnu Prasad Sahu, Ms. N. Ahalya, Mr. Bishwanath Mandal, Mr. Rajkumar Durua, Mr. Nipindra Durua, and all the members of the District Parishad and Panchayat Resource Centre, who played a crucial role in ensuring its success.
