Bhubaneswar, Dec, 23: The increased fares will come into effect from the 26th of this month.
For general class travel beyond 215 km, the fare will increase by 1 paise per km.
For Mail/Express non-AC travel, the fare will increase by 2 paise per km.
For AC travel, the fare will also increase by 2 paise per km.
For non-AC travel over 500 km, passengers will have to pay an additional Rs 10.
With this revision, the railways are expected to earn Rs 6,000 crore in revenue this year.
The prices for local train monthly tickets will remain unchanged.
