Tragic Train Collision: 3 Dead, Including 2 Pilots, in Head-On Crash of Goods Trains

Ranchi: A collision between two goods trains in Sahibganj, Jharkhand, resulted in the death of three people and injuries to four others. Among the deceased were both train pilots. The injured included four railway employees on duty and a CRPF jawan. They were rescued and admitted to Barharwa Sadar Hospital for treatment.

The accident occurred on Tuesday morning when an empty goods train was stationed near Sahibganj station. Meanwhile, another coal-laden train traveling on the same track crashed into the stationary train. The head-on collision caused the deaths of both loco pilots, Ambuj Mahato and B.S. Mall. Ambuj Mahato was a resident of Bokaro, while B.S. Mall hailed from West Bengal.

Following the crash, the coal-laden train caught fire. Soon after, a firefighting team arrived at the scene and brought the flames under control. The railway authorities have ordered an investigation into the incident.
