Udala: He had gone for a morning walk, unaware that death was waiting for him on the road. Just 2 km from his home, his life was tragically cut short in an accident. This shocking incident took place near Jhinkapada village under Kaptipada police station in Mayurbhanj district.
According to reports, Kripasindhu Sethy from Kaptipada, Mayurbhanj, was out for a morning walk on Wednesday morning along the Udala-Balasore state highway. Near Jhinkapada Chowk, a speeding pickup van, carrying goods from Cuttack, hit him from behind at high speed. As a result, he fell on the spot and lost his life instantly.
Hearing the loud noise, Amarendra Samal, who was bringing the goods in the vehicle, stopped the truck and got down to check. However, the pickup van driver fled the scene with the vehicle.
It is suspected that the accident occurred due to reckless driving while transporting goods in the rented pickup van. Kaptipada police reached the spot and started an investigation. The body was sent to Udala hospital for post-mortem, while police have launched a search for the absconding pickup van.
