Kotpad 31st January 2025 Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh): Another tragic news has come from the Maha Kumbh Mela. Yesterday (Wednesday), an on-duty police officer passed away. His body has been sent for post-mortem by the Jhunsi Police. The death of the sub-inspector has caused a wave of grief among his family as well as the police department.
“Police officer dies while on duty at Kumbh Mela”
Sub-Inspector Anjani Rai, a resident of Basuka village in Gahmar Police station area of Ghazipur district, was posted in Bahraich district. He was on duty at the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela when he suddenly fell ill. He passed away on the way to the hospital, where doctors later declared him dead. After receiving the news, a wave of mourning spread across the police department.
“Anjani’s family informed”
Rural SP Durga Prasad Tiwari stated, “Officials have informed the deceased officer’s family about the incident. The Jhunsi Police have taken necessary action and sent the body for post-mortem.”
About Anjani Rai
Anjani Rai, a resident of Basuka village in Ghazipur district, joined the police department as a constable in 1995. He was later promoted to the rank of sub-inspector. He had been serving in Bahraich district for more than two years and was posted at Hardi and Bondi police stations during his tenure.
