Kotpad: A youth tragically lost his life after being struck by lightning near Dangariguda village under S.B. Nuagaon panchayat in Kotpad block today.
According to reports, the youth was returning home from the market when the incident occurred. Though there was no rainfall, a sudden lightning strike with a loud thunderbolt hit near Dangariguda, resulting in his death on the spot.
Local resident Arjun Gadaba, who was present at the time, immediately informed the panchayat sarpanch, Deba Majhi. The sarpanch promptly arrived at the scene and informed the police and ambulance services. Thanks to timely action by the police and ambulance, and with the help of the sarpanch, the body of the deceased was shifted to the Kotpad Community Health Center.
This tragic incident deeply saddened the local villagers, and people from both the village and across the Kotpad area expressed their grief.
