Tragic End: Class 10 Girl Dies by Suicide After Playing Online Game

Gunupur: A Class 10 student, Saina Sahu (15), from Ganapatiguda village under Bhamanaguda police limits has reportedly died by suicide due to an online gaming addiction.

It is said that she won ₹4 lakh in the game but was unable to withdraw the money, leading to frustration and despair, which ultimately drove her to take her own life.

A scientific team along with the police investigated the scene. After a post-mortem examination at the Gunupur Sub-Divisional Hospital, the body was handed over to the family.

Saina, who studied at Bhamanaguda High School, had become addicted to online gaming in recent days, despite repeated warnings from her family.

Over time, she won ₹4 lakh while playing the game. However, when she tried to withdraw the money, she was repeatedly denied by the concerned platform. She even repeatedly appealed to the gaming platform and allegedly warned them that she would die by suicide if the money was not returned.

After losing hope, on Wednesday night, she hanged herself in the bathroom.

Her relative, Lili Pattnayak, later filed a written complaint at Bhamanaguda police station, after which police seized the body and started an investigation.
