Cuttack A head-on collision between a grape-laden truck and another truck occurred near Mulapal Chhak on National Highway 16 under Kuakhua police limits. The accident resulted in one death and two critical injuries. The incident took place on Sunday morning at around 7 AM.
Details of the Accident
According to reports, the other truck lost balance and crashed into the grape-laden truck. As a result, the driver of the colliding truck was trapped inside the cabin and died on the spot, while the driver and helper of the grape truck sustained severe injuries.
Upon receiving the news, officials from the Rasulpur Fire Service, including Officer Khelaram Mandi, Havildar Deepak Kumar Nayak, and employees Dhirendra Behera, Suresh Sethi, Gautam Sahu, and others, arrived at the scene. They rescued the injured and transferred them to the hospital. The deceased driver was identified as being from Maharashtra.
Police Investigation
The police have seized the accident-involved vehicles and initiated an investigation.
Cause of the Accident
As per sources, the grape-laden truck (WB 11F 9051) was traveling from Panikoili towards Cuttack on NH-16 when a speeding Eicher truck coming from the opposite direction suffered a front tire burst, leading to the collision.
