Raighar,18th Oct 2025: A tragic accident involving a school bus from Biju Patnaik Modern Public School has left one person dead and three students injured. The entire incident was captured on live CCTV footage.
According to reports, the school bus was transporting students to Raighar when it collided head-on with a Luna moped coming from the opposite direction. The Luna rider, Samaru Gand (60) from Turudi tribal village, was returning home when the accident occurred. He died on the spot, while three students sustained injuries.
The injured students were immediately admitted to Raighar Medical Center for treatment.
Raighar police reached the scene, seized the body, sent it for post-mortem, and detained the school bus driver at the police station for questioning.
The accident was recorded on CCTV, and eyewitnesses stated that the bus was speeding while transporting students when the collision took place.
