Traditional Kalasi Mandei Festival to Be Celebrated in Raighar This April

Raighar A preparatory meeting was held today for the upcoming Maa Kalasi Thakurani Mandei Festival, which is set to take place this year in the Raighar block of Nabarangpur district. The meeting was organized at the premises of Maa Kalasi Thakurani Temple, with key local leaders and community members in attendance.

Prominent attendees included village heads (Gaontias) Kamalsingh Rajput of Raighar, Sudarshan Majhi of Ganjapara, Indal Gand, Bilusingh Patra, Muna Patra, and Sriram Sunani, among others. The meeting also saw the participation of village elders, priests, temple caretakers, traditional leaders, and intellectuals from Satpali village.

The meeting, which commenced at 10 AM, focused on reviewing the income and expenses of last year’s Mandei Festival. Additionally, a new managing committee was unanimously formed to oversee this year’s Kalasi Mandei Puja and associated rituals in Satpali village.
