Berhampur,19th July 2025 : To reinforce the region’s power infrastructure and meet the rising demand, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has upgraded the primary substation (PSS) located in Bidyutpuri, Berhampur. This significant step has enhanced electricity reliability for around 3,000 consumers in Nilachal Nagar, Khodasingi, and Bidyutpuri areas.
Previously, the substation operated with two 5 MVA transformers. Now, one of the transformers has been replaced with an 8 MVA unit, increasing the total capacity of the substation to 13 MVA. This upgrade is particularly crucial during peak demand periods, ensuring improved electricity supply. Additionally, a new source feed has been connected to the substation, further stabilizing the power distribution.
As a result of this development, local educational institutions, commercial establishments, and residential areas are now receiving higher-quality electricity services.
Speaking about the upgrade, TPSODL CEO Amit Kumar Garg stated:
“This step reflects our commitment to providing reliable and sustainable electricity services to our consumers. Our team is continuously working to strengthen the power distribution network in response to Berhampur’s growing electricity needs.”
Across southern Odisha, TPSODL is placing special emphasis on developing advanced infrastructure and ensuring safe and dependable power supply, which in turn supports regional development and community empowerment.
