Balasore,1st Aug 2025: The long-standing demand of the general public has been fulfilled — the persistent low-voltage problem has been resolved. What was a serious issue for many residents over the years has now been permanently addressed by the joint initiative of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha through TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL).
To tackle the low-voltage issues across various affected areas, high-capacity electric transformers have been installed. In Ghatgaon area of Keonjhar district, a 100 kVA transformer has been upgraded to 250 kVA. Similarly, in Vidyadharpur, the existing 63 kVA transformer has been replaced with a 100 kVA unit.
In Raghunathpur under Baripada, the 100 kVA transformer has been enhanced to 250 kVA, and in Akhuapada under Bhadrak South Division, another 100 kVA unit was also upgraded to 250 kVA.
In the Rairangpur Division, the Uparabeda and Kantabania areas saw 25 kVA transformers upgraded to 100 kVA. Meanwhile, in the Joda area of Keonjhar district, a 100 kVA transformer has also been replaced with a 250 kVA unit.
These transformers, being of higher capacity, are expected to effectively eliminate low-voltage issues and improve the electricity supply for residents. As a result, the longstanding concerns of locals have finally been addressed.
Additionally, keeping safety in mind, new protective fencing structures have been built around the newly upgraded transformers, replacing the old enclosures.
TPNODL remains committed to providing quality power services to consumers. Over the past few days, significant infrastructure upgrades have been implemented. These efforts are based on consumer demand and local requirements, ensuring better power distribution across the districts under TPNODL’s jurisdiction.
