Bhubaneswar, 26th July 2025: TPCODL (TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has taken proactive steps to ensure electrical safety and uninterrupted power supply during the monsoon season. The company has appealed to all consumers to adopt safe practices to protect themselves, their families, and property from weather-related electrical hazards.
During the monsoon, conditions such as waterlogging, lightning, and unstable power supply increase the risk of electrical accidents. TPCODL emphasized that awareness and preventive measures are essential to avoid such incidents.
Consumers have been advised:
- Avoid walking or entering waterlogged areas, especially where electric poles or wires may be submerged, as this could lead to electric shock.
- Unplug all essential electrical appliances during thunderstorms or heavy rain to protect against power surges.
- Stay away from fallen or dangling wires, and immediately report them to the power utility.
TPCODL CEO Arvind Singh stated:
“Given the unpredictable weather during the monsoon, we place the highest priority on safety. We urge all our customers to remain alert and follow these simple yet crucial safety precautions. Together, we can ensure a safe and reliable power supply throughout the season.”
TPCODL reiterated its commitment to maintaining continuous service and protecting public safety, calling on citizens to cooperate and remain cautious during this critical time.
