TPCODL Gears Up for Summer with Enhanced Power Supply Measures

Bhubaneswar, TCODL has announced multiple measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the summer, meeting the peak demand of 2524 MW. The company has established a centralized power distribution technology center in Bhubaneswar, ensuring seamless operation of 33 kV feeders, primary substations (PSS), and 11 kV feeders.

Upgrades have been made to power transformers and substations, adding 152 MVA to the sub-transmission network. The distribution network has been strengthened with an additional 181 MVA capacity through new distribution transformers. The network has been expanded with 1126 ckm of sub-transmission lines, 1126 ckm of 11 kV lines, and 383 ckm of LT network.

Enhancements in 33 kV and 11 kV feeders have improved voltage stability, and on-load tap changers have been optimized. Additional manpower and vehicles have been deployed to handle cyclonic storms like Kalbaisakhi.

Thirteen mobile distribution substations are on standby, while 20 divisional stores have been stocked with emergency supplies for rapid restoration. Moreover, 20 Aska lights have been installed at critical locations.
