Tentulikhunti, Jan, 06: During the New Year holiday, a large number of tourists have visited the Ghumreshwar tourism spot in Mangardora Panchayat of Tentulikhunti Block. Many visitors have come from neighboring states Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh, as well as from Nabarangpur district.
Nearby tourist spots such as Dokaradora Waterfall, Raising Yodi Falls, and the Indravati Dam area are also seeing heavy tourist activity. Visitors are enjoying the New Year celebrations with traditional food, music, and dance. It is reported that nearly 10,000 tourists have visited the area over the last two days.
Considering the large crowd, Tentulikhunti police, led by Officer Prabhan Kumar Tudu, are present to maintain law and order. The Ghumreshwar tourism site, located inside dense forest, has become very lively due to the influx of tourists. The sound of waterfalls, the natural environment, tall mountains, and the chirping of birds are attracting visitors.
Among various tourist destinations in Nabarangpur district, Ghumreshwar stands out for its unique natural beauty. Throughout the year, tourists visit this site, particularly from January to March, enjoying the scenic spot to the fullest. The state government has developed this tourism area, but due to the lack of electricity, parking, and drinking water facilities, tourists are facing inconvenience.
To address these issues, the Jai Tentulikhunti Human Service Organization and the Ghumreshwar Tourism Committee have submitted requests to the Block Administration, District Administration, and the State Government for immediate arrangements for electricity, parking, and drinking water.
