Jeypore, Feb, 4: Tourism development work will be undertaken near the famous Maliput Railway Bridge. Arrangements will be made for mountain trekking up to the two waterfalls located on Haridaput Hill nearby. The block administration has prepared a blueprint for the project, with an estimated expenditure of ₹65 lakh in the first phase.
According to the block administration, tourists visiting Muran and Telingiri Dam will also be able to visit this site and enjoy its scenic beauty.

The renowned Maliput Railway Bridge is situated in Raniguda Panchayat under Jeypore Block. Known for its impressive height, the railway bridge attracts many tourists who visit the spot for picnics and leisure. On a nearby hill lies Haridaput, where two waterfalls are located. However, these waterfalls have not yet gained wider public attention.

The block administration is making efforts to develop the Maliput Railway Bridge and the nearby waterfalls into a major tourist destination. Plans include setting up a café near the bridge, cement-roofed rest shelters, seating arrangements and cooking spaces for picnickers, toilets, and drinking water facilities.

After developing these amenities, arrangements will also be made to facilitate mountain trekking from the bridge area to the waterfalls.

BDO Shakti Mahapatra, Assistant Executive Engineer Bijay Nanda, and Engineer Bhawana Patra have visited the site. Assistant Executive Engineer Mr. Nanda stated that steps have been initiated by the block administration for the development of this tourist destination. The two waterfalls located on Haridaguda Hill in Raniguda Panchayat will be included in the tourism development plan, with proper arrangements being made to improve accessibility for visitors.
