Dabugaon: Dec, 29: Under the Prime Minister’s new initiative MP Khel India, the MP Sports Festival aims to bring talented young sportspersons from rural and urban areas into the public spotlight and help enhance their skills. As part of this initiative, the festival was formally inaugurated today at Dabugaon.
After offering prayers to Maa Thakurani, the program was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial torch. Block Chairperson Beena Jhi, MP’s representative Somanath Pujari, senior advocates Jayant Kumar Patra and Rajendra Bisoi, senior BJP leader J. Sekhar Rao, Congress president G. Sai Raju, senior BJD leader M. Appa Rao, BJP Dabugaon Mandal President Manoj Patra, G. Kiran, G. Satya Rao, Papin Muni, and students from various institutions participated in the event.
A torch rally was taken out from the Maa Thakurani Temple to the Bhairab College playground. BSS staff, Jatin Panigrahi, Gram Panchayat Development Officer Padmanabh Bhalla, WEO Aditya Narayan, and other Dabugaon block employees supervised the arrangements and organization of the event.
It was informed that on this occasion, various sports competitions will be conducted over a period of two days.
