Kalyanasinghpur: A massive crowd of devotees has gathered at the Debagiri Panchamukheswar Shaiva Peetha in Kalyanasinghpur block of Rayagada district for the sacred Maha Shivaratri Jagara. From early morning, devotees, carrying their worship materials, have been seen standing in long queues to get a glimpse of the Sphatika Lingam (crystal Shiva Lingam).
Being an ancient and famous Shaiva pilgrimage site, devotees from various regions of Odisha and neighboring states like Chhattisgarh and West Bengal visit this holy place to fulfill their wishes. Many devotees climb 545 steps as part of their spiritual practice and faith to reach the shrine and seek blessings from the Sphatika Lingam.
To ensure the smooth flow of the event, the administration and temple committee have arranged drinking water facilities at the foothills, along with provisions for offering Arsha Prasad to devotees. The festival has also brought in numerous shops and marketplaces, with vendors not only from within the state but also from outside Odisha.
For security and safety, a platoon of police force has been deployed, along with the fire department and health services, ensuring that all necessary precautions are in place.
